Our Reading Room captures attention with its 12-metre glass ceiling, where daylight pours through to illuminate the blue and cream interior below. Standing in this ground floor space, directly opposite our main entrance, you'll notice how the natural light plays across the gilded wooden gallery that rings the room, its shelves lined with leather-bound volumes that speak to centuries of legal scholarship. The majestic columns create natural divisions within the space, while portraits and intricate wood panelling add warmth to what could otherwise feel overwhelming in scale. We find the room works brilliantly for presentations, with theatre-style seating for up to 120 delegates who can all clearly see our built-in screen. The integrated projector and audio system, complete with up to eight microphones, means your technical requirements are already sorted, all included in your hire fee. For training sessions, we arrange classroom-style seating for 60, giving everyone proper desk space for laptops and materials. Board meetings work particularly well here too, with our U-shaped configuration accommodating 48 participants who can engage in proper discussion while enjoying the scholarly atmosphere created by those surrounding bookshelves. The acoustics, enhanced by the soaring ceiling height, mean speakers project naturally without straining. During coffee breaks, delegates often comment on the room's unique character, particularly how the combination of historical elements and modern AV capabilities creates an environment that feels both professional and memorable. We're just minutes from Chancery Lane, Temple and Holborn underground stations, with City Thameslink providing additional connections. The Reading Room combines seamlessly with our Common Room when you need to expand your event space, offering flexibility for larger conferences or training programmes that require breakout areas.
