The Gillespie Room wraps you in warm oak paneling from floor to ceiling, creating an atmosphere where important conversations flow naturally. We've hosted everything from board meetings to wedding receptions in this versatile space, and the room adapts beautifully to each occasion. Those large bay windows are what people remember most, flooding your meeting with daylight while framing views of our Mansion Gardens. We can arrange the room in multiple configurations: boardroom style for 30, classroom for 22, banquet rounds for 50, theatre rows for 60, or drinks reception for up to 80 guests. The U-shaped layout works wonderfully for smaller training sessions of 10 participants. The chandeliers overhead catch the light beautifully, complemented by intricate ceiling moldings that remind you this building has welcomed guests for two centuries. We've equipped the room with everything modern meetings require: TV/projector capabilities, whiteboards, and flipcharts are all here when you need them. What works particularly well is how the oak paneling creates natural acoustics, so whether you're presenting quarterly results or hosting a workshop, everyone hears clearly without straining. The room sits at the heart of our venue, making it easy for your guests to move between sessions or step out into the gardens during breaks. Transport couldn't be simpler, with regular buses from Edinburgh city centre stopping nearby, and we provide complimentary parking for all attendees.
