The Writer's Suite greets you with floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the first-floor space with natural light, creating an atmosphere where ideas flow as freely as the Birmingham sunshine. We've designed this contemporary meeting room to adapt to your specific needs, whether you're hosting a large conference or running simultaneous breakout sessions. With theatre-style seating, we can accommodate up to 120 delegates comfortably in the full suite. The beauty of this space lies in its flexibility, as we can divide it into three distinct rooms: Corelli, Lodge, and MacNeice. This means you could run a main presentation in the combined Corelli and Lodge sections while using MacNeice for smaller group discussions, or keep all three separate for different workshop streams running in parallel. The room comes equipped with everything modern meetings demand. Ultra-fast Wi-Fi keeps everyone connected, while air conditioning maintains comfort throughout long sessions. We've included dedicated areas for poster boards, perfect for academic conferences or creative workshops. Tea and coffee facilities sit ready for those essential caffeine breaks, and you'll find restrooms conveniently located along the same conference corridor. Our venue's position within the University of Birmingham campus offers a refreshing change from typical city-centre locations. During breaks, delegates can refuel at the 1900 Restaurant, where our chefs prepare working lunches using ethically sourced British ingredients. The adjoining 1900 Bar provides a relaxed setting for post-meeting conversations.
