The Lecture Room in our Ashworth Centre represents a striking blend of centuries-old legal tradition and contemporary event technology. Queen Elizabeth II herself opened this space in 2018, naming it after Mercy Ashworth, one of the first women called to the bar here. Step inside and you'll find tiered seating for 158 delegates, each chair positioned to give everyone a clear view of presentations. The clever bit? These seats retract completely, transforming the room into a double-height reception space where your guests can mingle freely. Natural light streams through the windows, playing off the warm wooden paneling that gives the room its professional yet welcoming atmosphere. We've equipped the space with everything modern conferences demand. The integrated AV system, projector and screen handle presentations smoothly, while our high-speed Wi-Fi keeps everyone connected. The PA system delivers crystal-clear audio throughout the tiered seating, and the acoustics have been carefully designed to ensure every word carries perfectly. Our venue sits within eleven acres of gardens and historic buildings between Holborn and Chancery Lane, making it remarkably accessible despite the tranquil setting. The surrounding greenery offers a refreshing contrast to the city beyond our walls, while transport links remain conveniently close. Our in-house catering team can provide refreshments tailored to your event, from morning coffee to full conference lunches. We maintain a fully licensed bar, though you're welcome to bring your own alcohol for a corkage fee if you prefer specific selections. The Lecture Room works beautifully for corporate conferences, professional development sessions, AGMs, and screening events.
