The chimpanzees make extraordinary neighbours for your next conference. Our Budongo Lecture Theatre offers something you won't find anywhere else in Edinburgh: floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking our resident chimps as they swing, play and socialise in their enclosure. This remarkable view transforms ordinary presentations into memorable experiences that keep delegates engaged throughout the day. We've designed this space within our Budongo Trail facility to accommodate 170 delegates in tiered theatre seating, though we regularly reconfigure for smaller groups. The classroom layout works perfectly for 50 participants when you need writing space, while our cabaret arrangement seats 60 comfortably for workshop sessions. For networking events or drinks receptions, we can host up to 100 guests who invariably find themselves drawn to those spectacular windows. Natural light pours through the glazing, eliminating the need for harsh artificial lighting during daytime sessions. Our integrated AV system handles everything from PowerPoint presentations to video conferences, with technical support available throughout your booking. The tiered seating ensures clear sightlines for everyone, whether they're watching your presenter or catching a glimpse of our chimps' afternoon feeding time. Between sessions, delegates can explore the interactive displays in the Budongo Trail or step outside for fresh air in our 82 acres of parkland. We're just outside the city centre with regular bus services stopping nearby, and we provide complimentary parking for all attendees. Many groups appreciate being able to visit the zoo during opening hours, turning a standard meeting day into something more engaging. Our venue team coordinates with our in-house caterers to provide working lunches, coffee breaks and afternoon refreshments, all served in the adjoining spaces. The combination of professional facilities and that unique wildlife backdrop helps teams think creatively and stay focused throughout their sessions.
