Walking through the oak-panelled entrance of our ground-floor lecture hall, you'll find yourself in a space where Georgian architecture meets contemporary conference needs. Our venue's Swedenborg Hall welcomes up to 100 guests in theatre-style seating, with original antique wooden chairs that have supported countless lectures and performances over the decades. The warm pine flooring underfoot complements the oak panelling that lines the walls, creating an atmosphere that feels both scholarly and approachable. Above, mechanised skylight blinds control the natural light streaming through our intricately detailed ceiling, while full blackout capabilities transform the space for film screenings or presentations when needed. Our Boston Steinway upright piano sits ready for recitals, adding musical possibility to your meeting or conference. We've installed a wireless WUXGA full HD projector that displays onto our 1.98m wide screen wall, supported by a PA system with Wartdale speakers that ensure every participant can hear clearly. Two professional Shure microphones, plus a dedicated lectern microphone, facilitate smooth presentations and panel discussions. Technical requirements are fully covered with CAT 5 connections offering HDMI, USB C, VGA and XLR audio options. We provide an induction loop for accessibility, complimentary Wi-Fi throughout, and on-site technical support to help with setup. Our Blu-ray player and exhibition spotlights add versatility for different presentation formats. The Grade II listed building on Bloomsbury Way places you within easy reach of major transport links, making arrival straightforward for all attendees. Our ground-floor café remains open during most bookings, where groups often establish tabs for coffee breaks between sessions. Past guests have found the space perfectly suited to their needs, with groups particularly appreciating the room's capacity to accommodate larger numbers while maintaining an intimate atmosphere conducive to engagement and discussion.

We were a large group of 16 and the room was perfect for us.
The team at Swedenborg House were all very welcoming and nothing was an issue. They helped us sort out the projector and provided a screen as well as water.
