The Snug Room combines exposed brick walls with modern meeting essentials in one of our most characterful spaces. We've preserved the original brickwork from these Grade II listed buildings while adding a 44" wall-mounted screen for presentations and collaborative work. Eight guests can gather around the solid wooden table, settled into our mix of leather and patterned fabric chairs that we've chosen for longer sessions. The warm lighting we've installed works particularly well with the brick walls, creating an atmosphere that feels more like a private dining room than a typical meeting space, though it serves both purposes equally well. Without windows, the room relies entirely on our carefully positioned lighting, which actually helps maintain focus during intensive work sessions. We've added artwork and plants to soften the historic architecture, and the intimate scale means conversations flow naturally whether you're brainstorming, conducting interviews, or hosting a working lunch. Being tucked away from the main hotel areas, the Snug Room offers genuine privacy for sensitive discussions or when your team simply needs to concentrate. The absence of passing foot traffic makes it particularly suitable for confidential meetings or small training sessions where participants need to feel comfortable speaking openly. From this historic location on Skeldergate, you're just five minutes' walk from York Station, with the city's main attractions equally close by. Our venue provides superfast Wi-Fi throughout, and our restaurant can deliver refreshments directly to your meeting. For those staying overnight, we have 56 guest rooms across our connected buildings, while day delegates can access Emperors Gym during breaks. The Snug Room works especially well for board meetings, strategy sessions, client presentations, or as a private dining space for up to eight people when you want to combine business with Yorkshire hospitality.
