At Engine Shed, we've transformed Isambard Kingdom Brunel's original 1841 terminus building into Bristol's most distinctive innovation hub. Right next to Temple Meads station, our Grade I listed space combines exposed Victorian brickwork with modern glass and steel, creating an environment where history meets cutting-edge business. Our Junction space features 82 tiered seats arranged amphitheatre-style, making it particularly effective for keynotes and panel discussions where audience engagement matters. The Bristol Innovations Zone accommodates 90 people in theatre configuration, with dedicated breakout rooms on the ground floor and a mezzanine level that overlooks the main space - we find this works brilliantly for conferences that need both plenary sessions and smaller group work. The Members' Lounge adapts easily between networking receptions and exhibition setups, with natural light flooding through the original arched windows. For board meetings and strategy workshops, Brunel's Boardroom provides an intimate setting, while Platform 14 has become our go-to space for product demonstrations and launches, with its direct access to loading areas making setup straightforward. We've installed high-speed internet throughout the building and equipped each space with built-in audiovisual systems - projectors, screens, and sound equipment are all ready to use. Our catering team works directly with local suppliers to provide everything from working lunches to evening receptions. What makes Engine Shed unique is that rental income directly supports our programs for economic growth and youth development across Bristol.
