We're housed in a restored 13th-century Dominican friary - a Grade 1 Listed Building and Scheduled Ancient Monument that brings genuine historical atmosphere to every wedding we host. Our Banquet Hall transforms beautifully for ceremonies and receptions, with original stained-glass windows casting colored light across the space while chandeliers illuminate authentic medieval banners overhead. The hall seats up to 50 guests, creating an intimate setting where every guest feels part of your celebration. As a venue licensed for civil ceremonies by Newcastle City Council, we can host both your ceremony and reception, meaning you and your guests can relax and enjoy the entire day in one spectacular location. Beyond the Banquet Hall, our Tasting Room offers another distinctive space for smaller ceremonies or intimate gatherings, while our sheltered courtyard provides the perfect spot for champagne receptions. The historic Parlour Bar, with its ancient stone walls, creates a wonderful atmosphere for pre-dinner drinks. Our restaurant has held an AA Rosette for nearly two decades and features in both the Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide. We prepare traditional British cuisine using locally sourced ingredients, paired with an extensive wine selection and locally brewed beers. Our dedicated wedding coordinators work closely with couples to plan every detail, from the ceremony arrangements to the evening celebration. The venue also houses a cookery school offering various classes, adding another dimension to our historic space.
