Four screens tucked beneath the Grade II listed Earl Grey House on Grey Street make up our cinema and event venue at Everyman Newcastle. We've transformed this basement space into something rather special for Newcastle's city centre, perfect for parties and celebrations of all kinds. Our smallest auditorium holds 37 guests while the largest accommodates 80, giving you options whether you're planning an intimate birthday gathering or a bigger corporate celebration. Each screen comes equipped with Sony 4K projection and Dolby 7.1 digital sound systems, plus Screen 4 offers RealD 3D presentations. Instead of traditional cinema seats, we've installed plush sofas with plenty of legroom - your guests can properly relax during private screenings or presentations. The lounge bar sets the tone as soon as people arrive. Rich walnut paneling lines the walls, velvet-covered seating invites conversation, and the original parquet flooring adds character to pre-event drinks. Our Spielburger kitchen serves Aberdeen Angus burgers, pizzas, and sharing plates that we can deliver straight to seats during screenings. For standing receptions, the bar area works brilliantly with its mix of high tables and comfortable seating areas. We regularly host birthday parties with favorite films, corporate events combining presentations with entertainment, and celebration screenings where groups take over an entire auditorium. The basement location creates an intimate atmosphere away from street noise, while our position in Newcastle's historic heart means guests can easily continue their evening at nearby restaurants and bars. Our team handles the technical setup for presentations, arranges bespoke catering menus, and can source specific films for private screenings.
