Our former Greek Orthodox Church tells quite the story here at Malmaison Glasgow. We've kept the original vaulted ceilings and architectural details while creating 72 bedrooms that feel nothing like your typical hotel room. Each one comes with those rainfall showers everyone loves and beds that genuinely make getting up for meetings a challenge. Down in the basement, where the church's foundations still show through, we serve Scottish ingredients with a French twist at Chez Mal Brasserie. The domed ceiling catches the light beautifully during dinner service. Our bar team experiments with craft beers and creates cocktails that go well beyond the usual suspects - they're particularly proud of their whisky collection. For meetings and celebrations, we've converted several spaces that work for anything from board meetings to wedding receptions. The largest holds 80 people comfortably, and we've installed all the tech you'd expect - proper AV equipment, adjustable lighting, and reliable WiFi throughout. The original church windows create interesting natural light patterns that photographers particularly appreciate during events. We're tucked just off Blythswood Square, which means you can walk to Glasgow Central station in about five minutes. Sauchiehall Street's shops and restaurants are equally close. Business guests appreciate being able to reach most city center offices on foot. Our Duplex Suite occupies what used to be the church's upper gallery - two skylights frame views across Glasgow's rooftops. The other rooms vary in size and layout thanks to the building's original structure, but each maintains the balance between the church's historic bones and contemporary comfort. Whether you're hosting a corporate dinner, planning a small wedding, or need a central base for exploring Glasgow, we've adapted these old church walls to work for modern occasions.
