Our Grade II Listed Regency townhouse sits just a 10-minute stroll from York Minster, and we've transformed it into something rather special for both overnight guests and those seeking distinctive spaces for their meetings and private dining events. We've carefully restored 39 bedrooms across the property, including three remarkable suites. Each room tells its own story through locally sourced antiques and artwork that connects back to York's heritage. Our guests often discover little treasures throughout their stay – not least in the pantries we keep stocked on every floor with complimentary treats. The Bootham Room has become our go-to space for private gatherings. Whether you're planning a board meeting, family celebration, or intimate dining experience, this room offers the privacy and atmosphere that makes events memorable. For those organizing training sessions or presentations, we can accommodate groups from 24 to 50 people in our meeting spaces, all equipped with what you need for productive sessions. Our restaurant, Pearly Cow, sources ingredients from local Yorkshire producers, while The Bar at No.1 keeps things interesting with cocktails and beverages available throughout the day. The Marmalade Lounge hosts our afternoon tea service – proper British fare with delicate sandwiches, fresh scones, and cakes made from scratch. Down in the cellar's original arches, we've created a spa with five treatment rooms, including one designed for couples. We're also one of the few boutique hotels in York that genuinely welcomes dogs – we provide proper beds and treats for four-legged guests. Being less than a mile from York Railway Station makes us particularly convenient for business meetings and events. We've built our reputation on combining the building's historic character with everything modern guests expect from their venue.
