Our upstairs event space at PJ taste started as a simple idea - transform the area above our production kitchen into something special for Sheffield's gatherings. Today, walking up to the first floor at 54 Staniforth Road, you'll find 120 seats arranged around reclaimed wood tables that we sourced from local demolition projects. The exposed beams and trusses weren't planned as a design feature - they were already here when we moved in, but guests love how they frame the natural light streaming through the windows. We've kept things flexible up here because every event needs something different. Corporate teams use our AV setup for presentations during their training days, while wedding parties rearrange the tables for their receptions. Being right above our kitchen has its perks. Our chefs prepare everything fresh downstairs - the bread comes out of our ovens each morning, and during summer, we pick herbs and edible flowers from the beds outside. The menu changes with what's available locally, though we always have our Sheffield cheese selection that regulars ask for. We installed solar panels on the roof two years ago, which now power most of the building and charge our electric delivery vans parked in the free spaces out front. The bannister you'll hold walking upstairs? That's from storm-damaged trees we collected instead of letting them go to waste. The space works well for different occasions - we've hosted board meetings that needed complete privacy, wedding receptions for 100 guests, and product launches that used every corner. Whatever you're planning, we can work with the layout and our kitchen team can create the right menu to match.
