Preston Manor isn't just another stately home—it's a working piece of Edwardian history where your guests can wander between the Stanford family's drawing rooms and the servants' bells still hanging in the old kitchen corridors. We've kept everything as the family left it: the oil paintings on the walls, the mahogany furniture, even the worn stone steps where housemaids once hurried with breakfast trays. Our reception rooms hold 25 for a seated dinner or 100 for drinks and canapés, while the walled gardens stretch out beyond the French doors with space for 400 under a marquee or 500 scattered across the lawns. The lily pond makes a particularly striking backdrop for photographs, and yes, we do have that rather unusual pet cemetery tucked away in the corner—a quirky talking point that guests always remember. When you book with us, Café Rust handles all the catering from our own kitchens, whether you're after a formal three-course meal or relaxed finger food. For corporate groups, we work with Pier Pressure who run brilliant team-building activities throughout the house and grounds. The contrast between upstairs and downstairs creates natural break-out spaces—some groups gather in the morning room with its garden views, while others prefer the old servants' hall with its more intimate feel. Getting here couldn't be easier—Preston Park station is a short walk away, and we're just on the edge of Brighton & Hove. The Grade II* listing means we maintain everything to museum standards, but we're very much a living venue. From wedding receptions in summer to corporate away days and private celebrations year-round, we adapt these historic rooms to work for modern events while keeping their Edwardian character intact.
