Our old drapers shop on the corner of Palace, Guildhall, and Sun Street has been serving Canterbury since we transformed this historic building into The Drapers Arms. Just steps from the cathedral, we've kept the character of the original merchant's premises while creating spaces that work brilliantly for parties and events. The ground floor bar buzzes with energy - our street-side tables let your guests spill out onto the pavement with their drinks, watching Canterbury life go by. When you head upstairs, you'll find our first-floor dining room with its restored internal balcony, where original timber beams frame the space. The real showpiece is our rooftop terrace overlooking Guildhall Street - on summer evenings, it's where everyone wants to be with a cocktail in hand. We can host up to 70 guests for private events, and our HD projector and Bose sound system mean you're sorted for presentations, photo slideshows, or party playlists. The Outlaw Street Food kitchen serves up Korean fried chicken wings, loaded bao buns, and other Asian-inspired dishes with a smoky twist - proper food that people actually want to eat at parties, not fussy canapés. Our events team works with you to customize everything from the menu to the room layout. We've hosted birthday bashes, engagement parties, corporate celebrations, and everything in between. The mix of indoor and outdoor spaces means weather never spoils plans - if it rains, the party moves inside without missing a beat. Being right in Canterbury's center means your guests can easily find us, with plenty of parking nearby and the train station just a ten-minute walk. After your event, they can explore the medieval streets or pop into the cathedral grounds just around the corner.
