The bass hits you before you even reach the door at The Venue on University Road – we're Canterbury's largest nightclub and we've got the sound system to prove it. Our two floors can handle 1,200 people when everyone's on their feet, though we regularly transform the space for seated events too. Downstairs fits 800 standing or 250 seated, while upstairs works perfectly for 300 standing or 100 seated guests. We've hosted everything from drum and bass nights to corporate award ceremonies, and our setup adapts to whatever you throw at us. Each floor has its own fully licensed bar, built-in stage, and those lighting rigs that make every event feel like a proper show. The shots bar gets particularly busy during student nights, but corporate clients love it for adding that unexpected twist to their events. Our technical setup includes professional-grade sound systems on both levels, DJ booths ready to go, and green rooms for performers or VIP guests. The cloakroom handles coats for hundreds without breaking a sweat, and yes, we've got that photobooth everyone ends up queuing for after midnight.
