The original banking hall at Threadneedles Hotel still commands attention with its hand-painted stained-glass dome soaring overhead - we've welcomed countless wedding parties who pause to admire it during their first venue tour. Built in 1856 as a Victorian bank, our building in London's financial district has transformed into something quite special while keeping those architectural details that make photographers reach for their cameras. We manage 74 rooms and suites throughout the property, each fitted with natural wood furnishings and those thoughtful touches business travelers appreciate after long days in the City. The muted color palette helps create calm spaces where guests can actually rest, whether they're here for a conference or celebrating their wedding weekend with family. Our events team regularly transforms the historic spaces for different occasions. The main event areas accommodate up to 150 guests, and we've hosted everything from corporate board meetings to wedding receptions under that famous dome. Three private dining rooms offer more intimate settings for smaller gatherings or breakout sessions. The Dome Lounge serves as both a dramatic backdrop for wedding photos and a working space where business groups gather over afternoon tea. The restaurant focuses on British cuisine - our chefs work with seasonal ingredients and have developed menus that work equally well for wedding breakfasts or corporate dining. The bar becomes a natural gathering spot in the evenings, whether that's groomsmen sharing stories or colleagues unwinding after presentations. Being steps from the Bank of England and St. Paul's Cathedral means wedding guests can explore between events, and business visitors can walk to meetings.
