The Sopwith Room catches the afternoon sun beautifully through its generous windows, their rust-coloured drapes framing views across Mayfair. We find this second-floor space works wonderfully for celebrations that need something more intimate than our larger rooms, yet still want that sense of occasion. Those ornate chandeliers you'll notice aren't just decorative, they create exactly the right ambiance when dimmed for evening parties. During the day, natural light floods the space, making afternoon gatherings feel particularly special. The original fireplace anchors the room, and we've kept the framed artwork and photographs that tell part of our building's aviation heritage. For banquets, we can accommodate 40 guests at round tables with crisp white linens, leaving plenty of room for mingling between courses. Switch to a cocktail reception setup with high tables, and the room comfortably holds 70 people. The elegant wooden chairs and plush carpeting add to the refined atmosphere our guests appreciate. Blue Strawberry, our caterers, know this room particularly well. They've perfected the flow of service here, whether it's canapés circulating during drinks receptions or a full seated dinner. Their seasonal menus work especially well in this traditional setting. The Handley Page Room sits directly opposite, which proves handy for larger parties. Guests often use it as a pre-dinner drinks space or somewhere to retreat for coffee after the meal. Both Hyde Park Corner and Green Park stations are just minutes away, and your guests might enjoy a stroll through Hyde Park before or after the celebration.
