About Mercure Manchester Norton Grange Hotel and Spa
Drive past the city sprawl, through tree-lined lanes, and suddenly there we are—a Georgian manor house that decided to become a hotel without losing its soul. Norton Grange sits in proper gardens (our groundskeepers are borderline obsessive about those lawns), just far enough from Manchester to feel like an escape. The spa is the real draw for many. Indoor pool stays at a perfect 29 degrees year-round, and the treatment rooms overlook the gardens. But we're equally proud of our event capabilities. The Grange Suite opens onto its own terrace—brilliant for summer weddings. The boardroom has this wonderful oak table that makes even budget meetings feel important. Everything's kitted out properly: screens that drop from the ceiling, microphones that don't feedback, WiFi that handles 200 devices without breaking a sweat. Our kitchen brigade takes local sourcing seriously—the beef comes from a farm you can actually see from the restaurant windows. For parties, they'll create anything from formal five-course dinners to relaxed buffets. We're licensed for ceremonies too, and yes, we've seen every possible wedding weather in our time. That's why we always have Plan B ready. Castleton station's five minutes by taxi, but honestly, most guests drive—the car park's huge and free.
