Four generations of farming heritage meet contemporary celebration at Woolas Barn, where our Exclusive Use offering transforms 19th-century Yorkshire farm buildings into your private celebration space. German POW signatures still mark the original beams above, while railway sleepers form part of the structure, each telling stories of the lives that shaped these walls before us. When you book Exclusive Use, all four restored spaces become yours for the day. We start most celebrations in The Stables, our former horse quarters turned ceremony room, where original timbers and exposed brick create an intimate setting. Your guests then flow naturally into The Granary from 1863, now complete with our rustic bar and proper dance floor. Those Edison bulbs strung overhead cast the perfect glow as evening falls, while two snugs tucked upstairs offer quieter spots for catching up over drinks. The Lambing Shed remains many couples' favourite space for dinner. We can arrange long wooden tables here for up to 130 seated guests, with cross-back chairs and your choice of styling. Those soaring vaulted ceilings never fail to draw eyes upward, while glass doors frame views across our working farmland. Natural light pours through during summer afternoons, replaced by candlelight reflecting off ancient beams come winter. Step outside to find our courtyard overlooking the Yorkshire Wolds, where the fire pit becomes a natural gathering point as dusk settles. We've sorted parking for 50 cars on site, and York's transport links sit conveniently close for travelling guests. Our bar staff handle all drinks service while you're free to bring preferred caterers, giving complete control over your menu. Each season brings different moods to these historic buildings, from summer celebrations spilling onto the courtyard to cosy winter gatherings warmed by candlelight.
