About The Park View
Our four-level beer garden at The Park View catches everyone by surprise when they first step through from the main pub. We've built terraces that cascade down the hillside, each with its own character—from the Top Garden Terrace where groups of 40 can gather under string lights, to the lower levels where barbecue smoke mingles with conversation on summer evenings. The separate summer bar means no one has to trek back inside for drinks when the weather's good. We're right next to Preston Park, Brighton's largest green space, which gives our place a different feel from the city center pubs. Inside, we've kept the original Victorian features but added modern touches where they matter. The Basement Bar works brilliantly for private parties—it holds 80 standing or 42 seated, with its own bar, AV setup, and direct access to a private terrace. The Bay Windows area suits smaller groups of 22, tucked away but still part of the pub's energy. Our kitchen turns out proper British pub food, while behind the bar we pour craft beers alongside artisan spirits and cocktails. Tuesday quiz nights pack the place, and weekend DJs and bands keep things lively without drowning out conversation. Dogs are welcome everywhere, which means muddy paws after park walks are part of the furniture. The events team here knows every corner of the building and can sort catering packages to match any budget. Preston Park station is a five-minute walk, making it easy for guests coming from across Brighton or further afield. We've hosted everything from 18th birthdays in the garden to corporate gatherings in the Basement Bar, each event shaped by the group using our various spaces.
