Walking through the grand marble entrance of Imperial Treasure at 9 Waterloo Place, you'll find yourself in what was once a bank vault—now transformed into one of St. James's most distinctive Chinese restaurants. We've kept the original Grade II-listed architecture intact, with those soaring ceilings and ornate columns creating quite the backdrop for dim sum lunches and Peking duck dinners. Our main dining room seats 140 guests comfortably beneath the restored ceiling details, where Studio Liaigre's design brings warmth to the marble walls through carefully chosen lighting and furnishings. The kitchen team, many trained in Hong Kong and Guangzhou, prepare everything from scratch—from the delicate har gow to our signature roasted duck, which we serve tableside with traditional ceremony. Upstairs on the mezzanine, we've created three private dining rooms perfect for business discussions over lunch or family celebrations. Ru Yi seats eight around its circular table, while Ji Xiang accommodates ten guests, and Wan Shou fits fourteen. Each room comes equipped with built-in audio-visual systems that tuck away discreetly when not needed. We can also open up the dividing walls to create one larger space for bigger gatherings. Our bar team has developed a menu of cocktails using Asian ingredients—think lychee martinis and yuzu-infused gin drinks—alongside our wine collection selected specifically to complement Cantonese flavors. The whisky selection includes rare bottles from Scotland and Japan, which our sommelier enjoys pairing with different dim sum selections. Since opening in this remarkable building, we've welcomed everyone from banking executives hosting client dinners to families celebrating special occasions. The combination of our kitchen's traditional techniques and this extraordinary historic space creates an atmosphere you won't find elsewhere in London.
