The Porter Tun stands beneath its spectacular 60-foot King Post timber roof, where original copper brewing vessels catch the light against exposed beams that have watched over this space for centuries. We've preserved the antique wooden floors that stretch across 774 square metres of unobstructed event space, creating one of London's most dramatic settings for large gatherings. The sheer scale of the room allows us to host fashion shows on Monday, transform the space for 800-seat gala dinners by Thursday, and welcome wedding receptions at the weekend. Natural daylight streams through the windows during daytime events, whilst our integrated LED system creates completely different moods as evening approaches, from bright conference lighting to warm amber tones for celebrations. Our raised balcony runs along one side, giving speakers a natural platform or creating an elevated cocktail area where guests can survey the festivities below. The adjoining Malt Room serves perfectly as a green room for performers or a private space for wedding parties to gather before making their entrance. We've installed a sophisticated sound system that carries clearly across the entire space, whether you're presenting to 390 delegates in classroom layout or hosting drinks for 1,000 standing guests. The Grade II listed building sits at 52 Chiswell Street, with Moorgate, Liverpool Street and Barbican stations all providing easy access for your guests. Full wheelchair accessibility includes our lift system and designated parking spaces. Our in-house catering team prepares everything from working lunches to elaborate banquet menus, with halal and kosher options available. The space holds a civil ceremony licence, allowing couples to exchange vows beneath those historic beams before their guests spill onto the cobblestone courtyard for photographs against the original brick facades.
