The railway arches rumble overhead as trains pull into Waterloo, and down here in The Big Black One, that vibration becomes part of the atmosphere. This is our largest space at The Vaults, 264 square meters of pure underground potential where the vaulted ceiling soars to 5.6 meters at its peak, giving even the biggest parties room to breathe. We've watched this room transform countless times, from packed gigs with 599 people on their feet to intimate cabaret nights with 180 guests seated at tables. The exposed Victorian brickwork and steel beams create natural acoustics that our state-of-the-art sound system enhances, whether you're hosting live bands, DJs, or theatrical performances. The mezzanine level has become a favorite spot for DJs and lighting crews, offering them the perfect perch to orchestrate the night. Our lighting setup turns these old railway arches into something special. Geometric fixtures wash the brick in whatever colors match your mood, while the walls often feature rotating art installations that add unexpected touches to your event backdrop. For seated arrangements, we can configure the space as a 300-seat theatre, ideal for screenings, presentations, or comedy nights. Getting here couldn't be easier, with Waterloo and Lambeth North stations directly above us. We've made sure everyone can enjoy the space too, with step-free access throughout and wide corridors leading to the room. The accessible toilet sits conveniently at the rear. The industrial bones of this space mean decoration possibilities are endless. We've seen everything from minimal electronic music events that play up the raw concrete to elaborately themed parties that completely transform the arches.
