This former Cotton Exchange boardroom has witnessed countless important decisions over the centuries, and we've carefully preserved that sense of history while adding modern touches for today's meetings. Walking into the double-height reception area, your guests will appreciate the sweeping staircase that creates such a dramatic entrance. We've furnished the space with leather chairs and sofas that encourage conversation before meetings begin, while our wooden tables work equally well for board discussions or intimate dining. The fireplace, with its intricate woodwork and marble surround, often becomes a natural gathering point during coffee breaks. Our venue can configure The Exchange Suite to match your needs perfectly. For focused board meetings, we arrange seating for up to 25 participants around our main table. Theatre-style presentations work well here too, accommodating 30 attendees, while standing receptions can host 35 guests comfortably. We find the wood-paneled walls create exceptional acoustics for presentations, eliminating the echo issues common in modern glass-walled meeting rooms. The soft lighting comes from both our carefully positioned lamps and natural daylight filtering through the historic windows. We can adjust the ambiance throughout your event, from bright and energizing for morning strategy sessions to warm and intimate for evening receptions. Fresh floral arrangements and classic artwork complete the refined atmosphere without overwhelming the space. Being right in Manchester's historic center means your attendees can reach us easily from Piccadilly or Victoria stations.
