The River Room takes its name from the Thames flowing just beyond its floor-to-ceiling windows, where natural light pours through red-draped frames throughout the day. This former Ladies' Lounge of the National Liberal Club retains all its original character, from the intricate oak paneling that lines the walls to the ornate chandeliers suspended from high ceilings. We've carefully preserved the room's Victorian heritage while ensuring it meets modern business needs. The blue and red patterned carpet, chosen to echo the building's historical palette, creates an atmosphere of understated grandeur that our corporate clients particularly appreciate. When configured for boardroom meetings, the space comfortably seats 26 delegates around our polished tables, while theatre-style presentations can accommodate up to 70 attendees. The views across to the London Eye provide a memorable backdrop for any gathering. We find presenters often pause mid-sentence when the sun catches the river at just the right angle, creating those spontaneous moments that make meetings here different from typical conference rooms. Our technical team has installed comprehensive AV equipment throughout, with wireless connectivity that handles everything from video conferences to complex presentations. For larger gatherings, we can arrange the River Room to host 80 guests for receptions or seat 72 for formal dinners. The U-shaped configuration works particularly well for training sessions with 32 participants, while cabaret-style seating for 50 creates an ideal environment for workshops requiring both presentation space and breakout discussions. Our central Westminster location means participants can walk from Embankment or Westminster stations in under five minutes. The proximity to Whitehall, Trafalgar Square and Parliament makes this an especially convenient choice for government meetings or sessions requiring easy access to central London. Air-conditioning throughout ensures comfort during extended sessions, while our on-site support team remains available to assist with any technical or catering requirements during your event.
