Standing beneath the original 1841 timber and iron roof, our venue provides one of the most distinctive meeting spaces in the South West. The engineering marvel that Brunel created still impresses today, with its soaring 9.7-metre ceiling and expansive proportions that give your conference or corporate event a sense of occasion few modern venues can match. Our main hall stretches 54 metres in length and spans 27 metres wide, offering remarkable flexibility for your meeting requirements. We regularly configure the space for 800 delegates in theatre style, 400 in classroom format, or create more intimate cabaret layouts for 500. For corporate dinners and award ceremonies, we comfortably seat 650 guests, while networking events and product launches work beautifully with 600 attendees in a reception format. The Victorian architecture brings its own advantages to business events. Those magnificent arches and period windows flood the space with natural light during daytime conferences, reducing the need for artificial lighting and creating an energising atmosphere for your delegates. When evening events call for something more dramatic, our lighting system transforms the space, picking out the architectural details that make this Grade I listed building so special. Two adjoining rooms complement the main hall perfectly, serving as breakout spaces for workshops, registration areas, or quiet zones for networking between sessions.
