Push through the wardrobe door and you've found one of Shoreditch's most playful party spaces. We opened Callooh Callay back in 2008 with a simple idea: create a cocktail bar that feels like stepping into Lewis Carroll's imagination. Our name comes straight from "Jabberwocky," and that sense of literary whimsy runs through everything we do here. The main bar greets you with antique gramophones perched on shelves, vintage lighting casting warm shadows, and an atmosphere that makes people stop mid-conversation to take it all in. But the real magic happens when you discover our Back Lounge – yes, you actually walk through a wardrobe to get there. This secret room holds up to 50 of your guests in a space that feels both intimate and otherworldly. Upstairs, we've tucked away the JubJub bar, where we invite leading bartenders to create rotating menus. It's the kind of space where your group can disappear for hours, trying cocktails you won't find anywhere else in London. Speaking of cocktails, our inventive menus have earned us the World's Best Cocktail Menu award and regular spots in the World's 50 Best Bars – though we're more proud of the faces people make when they take their first sip. For parties, we can host up to 180 guests across our different spaces. Our team handles everything from in-house catering to customizable drink packages, and our sound system means you control the soundtrack to your night. We've hosted everything from birthday celebrations where guests emerged from the wardrobe with huge grins, to corporate events where deals were sealed over our signature serves. Every corner tells a story here, from the ornate wardrobes to the carefully curated curiosities that make each visit feel like an adventure.
