Since 2012, we've been pouring pints and serving up proper British food right here in Hove, East Sussex. Our pub combines the comfort of a traditional local with the energy of a proper party venue - whether you're planning a birthday bash in our beer garden or taking over the whole place for a wedding reception. The George Payne offers three distinct spaces for your celebration. Our main pub lounge has that cosy feel perfect for intimate gatherings, while the sunny front terrace catches the afternoon light beautifully. But it's our beer garden that really steals the show - strung with festoon lighting and dotted with heated cabins, it transforms into a magical party space come evening. The kids' play area means family celebrations run smoothly too. As a freehouse, we keep our taps rotating with ever-changing ales, beers, and ciders. Our Bloody Mary station has become something of a legend for morning-after wedding parties, and our cocktail menu keeps the celebrations flowing. The kitchen serves up British classics using fresh, seasonal ingredients from local suppliers - everything from our daily specials to those proper Sunday roasts that fuel family gatherings. For parties, we offer flexible options. Book our Banquettes area for smaller birthday dinners or anniversary celebrations, or hire the entire pub for larger events like wedding receptions and work parties.
