Raw brick walls meet Edison bulbs and mismatched furniture at The Old Market Assembly, where we've been throwing parties since 2015 on West Street in Bristol's BS2 0DF. Our three-story building started life as something else entirely, but we've turned it into the kind of place where birthday celebrations spill from the mezzanine down to the main floor, and corporate events end up with everyone dancing. We've got several spaces you can take over for your party. The snug works brilliantly for smaller groups who want their own corner, while the mezzanine gives you that balcony view over everything happening below. When the weather cooperates, our roof terrace becomes the star – sun-drenched during summer parties with views stretching across Bristol's rooftops. The ground floor houses our restaurant and bar, where we serve food made from ingredients sourced from local suppliers. Our bar team pours craft beers, mixes cocktails with house-made syrups, and knows their way around the wine list. During parties, we can arrange everything from canapes to full sit-down meals, depending on what you're after. What makes parties here different is the performance space we've built in. The sound system and lighting rig mean live bands sound incredible, and we regularly host musicians, comedians, and theatre groups through The Wardrobe Theatre. You can book entertainment through us, or bring your own DJ – we'll help with the technical setup. Practical stuff: we're fully wheelchair accessible throughout, free Wi-Fi covers the whole building, and our events team handles everything from initial planning to clearing up afterwards. We pride ourselves on working with local suppliers and keeping things sustainable where possible. Whether you're planning a wedding reception, birthday bash, or company celebration, we'll help create the party you're imagining.
