Every weekend for over two decades, we've watched thousands of party-goers descend the stairs beneath The Dome on George Street to discover what makes Why Not Nightclub Edinburgh's most enduring nightlife destination. Since opening our doors in 1997 as the first nightclub on this famous street, we've outlasted countless venues that have transformed into bars, housing, or shops while we continue to evolve and thrive. Our 2013 refurbishment transformed the space into something truly special - earning us eleven awards at major events including The SLTN Awards, Scottish Entertainment Awards, and Best Bar None Awards. The centerpiece remains our expansive central dance floor, surrounded by four luxurious party booths where groups can reserve their own space while staying connected to the energy of the main room. Scotland's only full LED room creates an immersive visual experience that synchronizes with our state-of-the-art sound system, turning every beat into a full-sensory experience. Step outside and you'll discover Edinburgh's biggest late-night garden area - a rarity for city center venues. Complete with its own cocktail bar and covered by giant umbrellas, the garden stays buzzing regardless of Scottish weather. Our five large cocktail bars mean you're never far from a drink, whether you're in the LED room, on the dance floor, or relaxing in the garden. We keep things fresh with our weekly lineup: Flare Mondays, Love Wednesdays, Filthy Fridays, and Why Not Saturdays each bring their own vibe with resident DJs and performers. For those wanting the full VIP treatment, our table bookings include queue jump and dedicated service. With space for up to 1,000 guests, we regularly host everything from student nights to private celebrations and corporate events.
