Every morning when we open the doors at Winchester Cathedral, we're reminded why couples and businesses choose our historic spaces for their most important moments. The thousand-year-old stone walls have witnessed centuries of celebrations, and now we're bringing that same sense of occasion to your meetings and weddings. Our newest addition, The Pavilion, just opened in November 2024 and has already become a favorite for larger gatherings. We designed it with bi-fold doors that completely open to our private garden, creating an indoor-outdoor flow that works beautifully for wedding receptions of up to 250 standing guests. The licensed bar means your celebration continues seamlessly from ceremony to reception. For more intimate weddings or focused business meetings, The Wessex Centre offers something special. Built in 2016, its floor-to-ceiling windows frame the cathedral perfectly - we often see guests pause mid-conversation just to take in the view. With space for 100 guests, it strikes the right balance between grandeur and warmth. The Refectory combines contemporary design with our walled garden setting. During summer weddings, we open everything up to the gardens, though the cathedral views alone make it memorable year-round. We can accommodate 140 for standing receptions here, and the space transforms beautifully from daytime conferences to evening celebrations. Our Paul Woodhouse Suite works particularly well for board meetings and strategy sessions. The glass walls and high ceilings create an inspiring atmosphere while maintaining the privacy your team needs. Meanwhile, The Undercroft offers something completely different - its vaulted ceiling and private patio create an intimate space perfect for smaller wedding parties or breakout sessions. Between events, guests often browse our café and gift shop, adding those finishing touches to their day with us. Our events team handles all the coordination, drawing on years of experience hosting everything from corporate conferences to wedding ceremonies.
