About Alton House Hotel
Alton's not a huge place, but tucked just off the main drag, our hotel grounds feel like a secret garden. The building itself has been here for generations, and we've kept that sense of history while making sure everything works perfectly for modern celebrations. I love showing couples around because their reactions are always the same—relief when they realize we're literally minutes from both transport links, then delight when they see the gardens stretching out behind the hotel. It's properly peaceful back there, mature trees and all, perfect for those golden hour photos. Inside, we've thought through what really matters. The air conditioning keeps everyone comfortable (trust me, summer weddings need it), the sound system handles whatever playlist or band you throw at it, and we've made sure everywhere's accessible. Yes to confetti, yes to your own DJ if you prefer, and definitely yes to making it exactly how you want it. Our kitchen team sources locally where possible, parking's free and plentiful, and the whole place connects to decent Wi-Fi (because someone always needs to livestream the speeches). What makes us special in Alton? It's that rare combination—properly easy to reach but feels miles away from anywhere once you're in the gardens. Plus, we actually enjoy weddings here. Sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised. Pop round for a coffee and a wander. The gardens look spectacular right now.
