The Social at 5 Little Portland Street has been throwing parties since 1999, and we've learned a thing or two about what makes a night memorable. Our two-floor setup gives you options – the ground floor bar, crafted by architects David Adjaye and Will Russell, feels like stepping into someone's impeccably designed living room, all warm wood and booth seating where conversations flow as easily as the cocktails. Downstairs, our basement transforms into whatever you need it to be. We've packed 150 people in for raucous DJ sets and intimate acoustic sessions alike, thanks to our high-spec sound system that does justice to everything from electronic beats to spoken word. The Chemical Brothers played here. So did Adele before she was, well, Adele. Bon Iver's first UK show? That was us. These walls have stories, from Aphex Twin DJ sets to Irvine Welsh readings, Fat White Family chaos to Kate Tempest's poetry. Our drinks menu runs deep – cocktails that actually taste like their ingredients should, beers you won't find everywhere, and proper snacks when you need them. The basement works brilliantly for private parties, corporate events that don't feel corporate, book launches where people actually stay for the party after, and gigs that people still talk about years later. We've got an accessible toilet on the upper level, and our team knows how to work with whatever wild idea you bring us. Twenty-five years in, we're one of the last proper music venues in the West End. Not because we're trying to preserve something, but because great nights out never go out of style.
