The transformation from royal garden to celebration space makes Waterloo Gardens at Prince Philip House something rather special. When we open the French doors from our indoor rooms and guests step onto the terrace, there's always that moment of surprise as they discover this hidden green sanctuary right behind Carlton House Terrace. Our outdoor space comfortably welcomes up to 250 guests for receptions, with mature trees providing natural shade during summer afternoons and creating intimate pockets for conversation. We arrange white canopies throughout the garden, offering covered areas where guests can gather with their drinks while still enjoying the outdoor atmosphere. The winding paths that once served St. James's Palace now guide your guests between different areas of celebration, whether that's the main bar area, quieter seating spots, or the dance floor we can set up under the stars. For weddings, we often see couples exchange vows beneath our largest tree before their guests enjoy champagne and canapés on the lawn. Corporate clients particularly appreciate how the garden works as a natural extension of our indoor spaces, letting delegates move freely between formal presentations inside and relaxed networking in the fresh air. Tables dressed in white linens with lavender accents catch the afternoon light beautifully, while our lighting design ensures the space feels magical as evening arrives. Our catering team prepares everything fresh in our kitchens, from substantial bowl food for standing receptions to elegant seated dinners. We accommodate halal, vegan and gluten-free requirements as standard, with our bar serving until 11pm. The garden remains available for events until 10pm, respecting our Westminster location.
