The Library sits just off the main corridor at DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester, tucked into a corner of Store Street Exchange where the bustle of Piccadilly Station feels worlds away. We've watched countless groups transform this space, from product launches that use the bookshelves as backdrop to birthday celebrations where guests mingle between the leather chairs and towering volumes. Those floor-to-ceiling bookshelves aren't just decoration, they're packed with actual books that create an atmosphere you can't manufacture. The long wooden table anchors the room, surrounded by proper leather chairs that encourage people to settle in rather than perch awkwardly. Natural light streams through during daytime events, though the carefully positioned lighting means evening gatherings have their own warm character. For cocktail parties, we can accommodate 30 guests who tend to naturally cluster in conversation pockets around the room. Seated dinners work beautifully for 18, with the table creating that dinner party feel where everyone's part of the same conversation. The flatscreen TV might seem at odds with all those books, but we've seen it used brilliantly for everything from presentation slides to birthday montages. The semi-private nature means you get your own defined space while still feeling connected to the energy of the venue. Air conditioning keeps things comfortable (essential when you've got 30 people raising toasts), and the wheelchair access extends throughout. Parkway and Oldham Mumps metros are walking distance, though most guests appreciate that Piccadilly Station is literally on our doorstep. Corporate drinks receptions, milestone birthday dinners, book launches, intimate networking events, we've hosted them all in here. The space adapts without losing its essential character, that sense of being somewhere a bit special, surrounded by stories.
