About Café Rouge - Stratford Upon Avon
Rich red curtains frame the windows at Café Rouge Stratford-upon-Avon, where we brought a taste of Paris to 18 Sheep Street. Our theatre walls displayed bespoke Rouge graphics alongside Shakespearean quotes—a nod to our historic town—while French posters added authentic Parisian flair throughout the dining room. We served classic French dishes from morning through evening, with our kitchen preparing everything from traditional breakfast options to hearty dinner plates. Our chefs crafted menus that included plant-based and gluten-free dishes, ensuring everyone could enjoy French cuisine regardless of dietary needs. The aroma of fresh croissants and coffee filled the space each morning, while evenings brought the sizzle of steak frites and the pop of wine corks. Our private dining room accommodated up to 50 guests with no hire charge, making it popular for birthday celebrations, business meetings, and corporate events. The space offered the same warm atmosphere as our main restaurant, with dedicated service for your group. When the weather cooperated, our two gardens provided the perfect setting for al fresco dining—whether you preferred a morning cappuccino in the sunshine or a leisurely glass of wine under the evening sky. We designed our restaurant to welcome all guests, with wheelchair accessibility throughout and facilities for visitors with disabilities. Our location, just steps from the train station, made us an easy stop for both locals and visitors exploring Stratford-upon-Avon. While we were proud to serve our community with Parisian-inspired dining in the heart of Shakespeare's birthplace, Café Rouge Stratford-upon-Avon has permanently closed as of January 2025. We thank all our guests who made our restaurant part of their Stratford experience over the years.
