About Deptford Town Hall
Stepping through the grand entrance of Deptford Town Hall, you're immediately struck by the 1905 Baroque architecture with its distinctive maritime sculptures adorning the facade. We're particularly proud of our recently refurbished Council Chamber, where original features blend seamlessly with contemporary functionality. The Council Chamber serves as our flagship meeting space, with 80 fixed tiered seats that give everyone clear sightlines. When you need more capacity, we can accommodate an additional 120 guests on the main floor. Our technical setup includes a full projection system, professional sound equipment, and yes, that's a genuine Steinway grand piano in the corner - it gets regular use during music recitals and adds character even when silent during corporate presentations. Beyond the main chamber, we maintain three dedicated meeting rooms. Our boardroom comfortably seats 35 people around a substantial table, with a plasma screen mounted for presentations and all the laptop connections you'd expect. The two smaller rooms work perfectly for breakout sessions or more intimate gatherings, seating 25 and 16 respectively. We've hosted everything from academic conferences to film crews who love the period details, from full-day corporate meetings to evening concerts that make full use of our acoustics. The building's Grade II listed status means working within certain parameters, but we've found creative solutions to incorporate modern necessities without compromising the historic atmosphere. Getting here couldn't be easier - we're right on New Cross Road with both New Cross and New Cross Gate stations just a short walk away.
