The bright yellow walls of The Sun In Splendour have watched over countless celebrations since we first opened our doors on Portobello Road. Just a few minutes from Notting Hill Gate tube station, our historic pub has become the go-to spot for birthday parties, engagement drinks, and those spontaneous Friday night gatherings that turn into something special. We've kept all the original period features that make this place feel like a proper British pub – the worn wooden floors, the ornate ceiling details, the cosy nooks where conversations flow as freely as the drinks. But we've added our own touches too, making sure every corner feels warm and inviting for your party. The main bar area buzzes with energy during events, while quieter spots offer breathing room for catching up with old friends. Our courtyard garden is where the magic really happens during party season. We've filled it with plants and created sheltered seating areas, plus there's a fire pit that keeps things cosy when the sun goes down. It's perfect for those summer birthday parties that drift from afternoon drinks into evening celebrations. The space works just as well for 30 people as it does for larger groups spreading between the garden and inside areas. Food-wise, we serve up proper British pub classics alongside plenty of vegan and vegetarian dishes – because we know every party has different tastes. Our bar stocks an impressive range of craft beers, carefully chosen wines, and we make a mean cocktail when the occasion calls for it. Sunday live music sessions and Wednesday quiz nights keep things lively throughout the week, though we're happy to work around these for private bookings.
