When the sun catches the water through our panoramic windows, you'll understand why parties aboard Alfred Le Roy feel different from anywhere else in Hackney Wick. This isn't just hiring a venue, it's taking over an entire canal boat where your celebration floats gently on the water while the East London skyline drifts past. We've kept the character of this classic British narrowboat intact, with original wooden tables running the length of the interior and booth seating that naturally draws groups together. Those panoramic windows we mentioned? They wrap around the entire space, so whether you're raising a toast at the bar or tucked into a corner booth, you're always connected to the water and movement outside. Our two retractable roof sections completely transform the atmosphere when London weather plays nice. We can roll them back to create an open-air party feel while the sides still protect you from any breeze, or keep them closed for a more intimate gathering. Either way, the hanging jar lights cast a warm glow across the space as evening arrives. The integrated bar runs along one side, where our bartenders mix up house favorites like the 'Akoya' and 'Le Roy' alongside local beers, wines and soft drinks. We've found the boat naturally encourages mingling, with guests moving between the bar, booths and standing areas as the party flows. For dancing or speeches, we can accommodate up to 55 guests in a reception layout, while seated dinners work beautifully for 40. The integrated sound system lets you control the music, and many groups bring their own DJ to really make the night their own. Moored right next to CRATE Brewery, we're easy to find and perfectly positioned for pre or post-party drinks on dry land too.
