Our railway arches at Hotel Elephant have been home to creative minds since 2009, and we've grown into something quite special here at 1-5 Spare Street. Just three minutes from Elephant & Castle station, we're a not-for-profit that's transformed these industrial spaces into workspaces where over 80 artists, makers, designers and creative entrepreneurs come to build their businesses. We operate across three interconnected studio locations, all within a 10-minute walk of each other. Our private offices range from compact 100-square-foot studios perfect for solo creators to 600-square-foot spaces that accommodate small creative teams. Every workspace comes on flexible contracts because we understand creative businesses need room to grow and adapt. The arches create a unique working environment - the curved ceilings and industrial heritage give each office real character. We've fitted out the interiors with bespoke features while keeping that raw, creative energy. You'll find dedicated desks for those who like their own spot, plus hot-desking options when you need flexibility. Our high-speed WiFi reaches every corner, and we handle all the practical stuff - heating, cleaning services, and utilities are all included. Our 900-square-foot project space has become the heart of our community. With its projector, screen, flexible desk arrangements and kitchenette, members use it for everything from client workshops to creative rehearsals and exhibitions. We host regular showcase opportunities where our members can display their work, plus community events that bring everyone together. Working here means unlimited tea and coffee to fuel your creativity, 10% off meals in our café, and Friday evening drinks on us at the bar. We've built Hotel Elephant to support creative professionals at every stage - whether you're launching your first venture or expanding an established practice.
