We're tucked away in 11 acres of Somerset woodland near Wrington, just 13 miles from Bristol's center and three miles from the airport - close enough for convenience, far enough for focus. Our 18th-century country house offers a refreshing alternative to traditional conference venues. The main hall comfortably hosts larger presentations and conferences, while our smaller rooms work perfectly for breakout sessions or board meetings. We've kept the original Georgian features - the fireplaces and period woodwork add character without compromising functionality. When groups need a breather, they often wander into our landscaped gardens with views stretching across the Mendip Hills. We've hosted everything from strategy sessions to team-building weekends here at Barley Wood House. Our nine double bedrooms mean residential meetings run smoothly, with delegates staying on-site rather than shuttling between hotels. The five bathrooms feature those roll-top baths and walk-in showers that make overnight stays feel less like business travel and more like a countryside retreat. Our approach is simple - we work around your needs. Want to bring your own caterers? No problem. Need us to arrange everything from morning coffee to evening meals? We'll handle it. Some groups use our outdoor spaces for activities and summer barbecues, others stick to the indoor meeting rooms. We price each event individually based on which spaces you need and for how long. As part of the YMCA Dulverton Group, we're a social enterprise - your booking helps fund youth development programs.
