About Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution
Here at the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution, our Grade I listed Georgian building has been bringing people together since 1824. We sit right on Queen Square, one of Bath's most photographed spots, and our meeting rooms carry that same historic character throughout. We've got four different spaces that work for everything from intimate board meetings of five people to larger conferences hosting up to 100 delegates. Each room comes equipped with what you need for productive meetings - flip charts, presentation screens, projectors, TVs, laptops when required, and PA systems for larger gatherings. Our staff set up the tea and coffee before you arrive, and we're always nearby if you need anything during your session. The building itself adds something special to any meeting. Original Georgian features blend with our modern AV equipment, creating spaces that feel both professional and distinctive. We regularly host workshops, lectures, and educational events alongside standard business meetings, so we understand how different groups use our rooms differently. Beyond our meeting facilities, we maintain a library collection of over 9,000 volumes covering natural history, local Bath history, and parliamentary records. Many groups enjoy incorporating a tour or simply having their breaks in our historic reading rooms. We also run exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year, which means there's often something interesting happening in the building during your visit. Our central Bath location makes us easy to reach, with plenty of parking nearby and good public transport links. The surrounding Queen Square gardens provide a pleasant spot for attendees to stretch their legs between sessions. Whether you're planning a strategy day, training workshop, or academic conference, we provide both the practical facilities and the inspiring setting to make your meeting work.
