We've been hosting gatherings since 1326, and our riverside setting along the Cam brings a sense of calm that helps delegates focus and collaborate effectively. Our Gillespie Centre opened in 2009 specifically for modern conferencing needs. The flexible meeting rooms accommodate groups from small board meetings to presentations for up to 150 delegates, with built-in projection systems and high-speed connectivity throughout. We find the natural light and garden views help maintain energy levels during long sessions. When it's time for breaks, our culinary team prepares everything from working lunches to formal dinners using ingredients from local Cambridge suppliers. The Great Hall works beautifully for larger conference dinners, while our smaller dining rooms suit executive meetings or team celebrations. Coffee breaks can be served in the gardens when weather permits, giving delegates a chance to continue discussions while strolling along the river. For multi-day conferences, we have up to 220 bedrooms available on-site. Each room includes complimentary Wi-Fi and refreshment facilities, so delegates can prepare for the next day's sessions in comfort. The short walk from accommodation to meeting spaces means no one's ever late for the morning session. We regularly host corporate conferences, training workshops, board meetings, and summer schools. Our central Cambridge location means delegates can easily explore the city during free time, with the train station just a 20-minute walk away. The combination of our historic setting and purpose-built conference facilities creates an environment where both formal presentations and informal networking thrive naturally.
