About Empire House
The former Slaithwaite Town Hall has found new life as Empire House, where we've created something different for West Yorkshire's business community. Our members include everyone from startup founders working solo to established business owners who've grown tired of kitchen tables and coffee shop Wi-Fi. We're the first business members' club in Huddersfield, occupying this historic building that once served as the civic heart of Slaithwaite. The original architecture provides the perfect backdrop for our modern workspace – high ceilings and period features combined with the technology today's businesses need. Our main workspace, which we call 'The House,' feels more like a private club than an office. Members settle into comfortable armchairs with their laptops, grab fresh coffee from our kitchen, and often end up in spontaneous conversations that lead to new collaborations. BBC News runs quietly in the background, and our ultra-fast Wi-Fi handles whatever demands you throw at it. The conference room comes equipped for video calls, presentations, and team meetings. We've invested in proper AV equipment because we know how frustrating technical hiccups can be during important calls. Our fully stocked bar means post-meeting drinks happen right here, and many members stay on for dinner at Braise, our in-house restaurant serving small plates during the week and Sunday roasts at weekends. Everything's included in membership – from printing and parking to business rates and utilities. We handle the cleaning, provide a mailing address, and keep the fruit bowl topped up. Members can book the space for their own events, whether that's a workshop for clients or a private party, with catering available through Braise. For businesses seeking flexibility without fixed overheads, we offer month-to-month contracts. No complicated terms, just straightforward access to a professional space that works around your schedule.
