About Gaucho Hampstead
Most Gaucho restaurants play it safe. We decided Hampstead deserved something more interesting, so we built a proper Argentine Asado pit in our courtyard. Yes, it works year-round—we've got heaters and blankets for winter. Watching your steak cook over actual flames while sipping Malbec? That's dinner theater. Inside's cozy without being cramped. Dark wood, wine bottles everywhere, the smell of beef that makes vegetarians reconsider. We're not trying to be trendy—just genuinely good at what we do. The terrace is why people come back though. Summer lunches stretch into evening, winter means mulled wine around the fire pit. Dogs are welcome because this is Hampstead and honestly, some regulars' dogs are better behaved than their owners. For private events, we're surprisingly adaptable. Birthday parties, work dinners, even a wedding reception once (that was interesting). Bring your own music, use our sound system, whatever works. The wine list's all South American—our sommelier's from Mendoza and takes it personally if you don't find something you love. Hampstead station's a five-minute walk through the village. We're the one with smoke coming from the courtyard and people taking photos of their steaks. Book ahead for weekends or if you want the fire pit table—everyone wants the fire pit table.
