About Islington Townhouse
Our three-floor Victorian building on Liverpool Road has been hosting parties since we first opened our doors. The main bar downstairs buzzes with energy most nights, but we've carved out special spaces throughout the Islington Townhouse for groups who want their own corner of this characterful pub. The Attic sits right at the top, where exposed beams meet ornate chandeliers - it's where we host everything from birthday drinks to engagement parties for up to 30 people. One floor down, The Lounge offers a more intimate setting with its own cocktail setup, while The Snug lives up to its name as our cosiest spot for smaller gatherings. Each space comes with its own personality - you might spot our famous newspaper-clad mannequin on your way up the stairs, just one of the quirky touches we've collected over the years. We're particularly proud of our drinks selection. Our bar team works with local London breweries to keep the taps rotating with craft beers, and Master of Wine John Clevely helps us choose bottles that pair perfectly with celebrations. The cocktail menu changes with the seasons, though certain crowd-pleasers never leave. Food-wise, we've moved beyond standard pub grub without losing that comfort factor. Our kitchen sends out plates of crispy squid tentacles and gin-cured salmon alongside heartier options - all designed for sharing while you catch up with friends. The main bar has live music on selected nights, and when London weather cooperates, our outdoor seating fills up quickly. Free WiFi runs throughout the building, making those group photo uploads easy.
