About Jamaica Yard
Jamaica Yard spans three floors of creative workspace and event space just off Jamaica Street in Edinburgh's New Town. During weekdays, we run Hive Spaces across our ground and first floors, where members work from shared desks, tuck into private pods for focused tasks, or book our meeting rooms for team sessions. The courtyard catches afternoon sun, making it a favorite spot for coffee breaks with beans from Redemption Roasters. Our co-working members plug into fast Wi-Fi while grazing on artisan snacks from the kitchen, and many grab lunch from our partner restaurants nearby. We host morning workout classes in our basement studio before the workday starts, and our member mixers bring together freelancers, startups, and remote workers who've made Jamaica Yard their professional home. When evening arrives, we transform into Yard Events. Our underground space accommodates 60 standing guests or 20 seated, with two fully staffed cocktail bars keeping drinks flowing. The PA system and DJ booth handle everything from background music to full dance floor energy, while our projection mapping turns the walls into moving art installations. The private courtyard becomes an escape between sets or speeches. Book launches fill our basement with authors and readers, exhibitions showcase local artists against our industrial walls, and private parties dance until late. Our Yard Athletic studio downstairs runs personal training sessions and fitness classes using equipment specifically chosen for high-intensity workouts and strength training. We've carved out these distinct spaces within our New Town building - productive workspaces by day, atmospheric venue by night, and fitness studio keeping everyone energized. Each area serves its purpose while maintaining the creative energy that flows through Jamaica Yard.
