About Larmer Tree Gardens
The peacocks call out across our 11-acre Victorian gardens here at Larmer Tree Gardens, where couples have been saying "I do" since we opened our gates for celebrations. Our Grade II* listed grounds on the Wiltshire-Dorset border were originally created in 1880, and today we transform these historic spaces into magical wedding venues for up to 250 guests. Our open-air Singing Theatre sits beneath a canopy of ancient trees - perfect for outdoor ceremonies when the weather cooperates. The acoustics here are remarkable, with natural stone seating that curves around the performance space. For more intimate gatherings, we open our Roman Temple with its classical columns, or the Lower Indian Room, an authentic Nepalese building that never fails to spark conversation among wedding guests. The Jubilee Hall serves as our main reception space, where Victorian architectural details meet all the practical needs of modern celebrations. High ceilings and large windows flood the room with natural light during daytime receptions. Our Pavilion offers another indoor option, particularly popular for evening parties and dancing. We provide exclusive use of the entire gardens for each wedding, meaning your guests can wander the secret pathways between events, discovering hidden corners and watching our resident peacocks strut across the lawns. Our wedding coordinators work closely with each couple, and we have on-site accommodation available for wedding parties who want to stay close by. Beyond weddings, we host corporate events and private parties throughout the year. The gardens themselves welcome visitors from April through October, Sunday to Wednesday between 10am and 4pm. We don't have a café on site, but our lawns make perfect picnic spots - many visitors spread blankets beneath the trees and make an afternoon of it.
