Our converted seaman's mission building on Leith's waterfront has been welcoming business guests and diners since we transformed it into Malmaison Edinburgh. The original stone walls and maritime character remain throughout our 100 rooms, while each space features deep beds, rainfall showers, and workspace areas that our regular business travelers particularly appreciate. The Chez Mal Brasserie & Bar occupies what was once the mission's main hall, where we now serve everything from Scottish beef with Asian-inspired glazes to classic French dishes with an American twist. Our bartenders craft signature cocktails using local spirits, and the atmosphere shifts from productive lunch meetings to relaxed evening dining as the day progresses. For meetings and private dining, we've created several distinct spaces within the building's historic framework. Our boardrooms accommodate focused discussions for 8-12 people, while the larger conference rooms handle presentations for up to 60 guests. We keep the tea and coffee flowing throughout the day with three scheduled servings, alongside our home-baked pastries, fresh fruit platters, and yes, a selection of chocolates that tends to disappear by afternoon. Business lunches can range from working platters to full hot meals, depending on your schedule. The private dining rooms work equally well for wine tastings, birthday celebrations, or team dinners. Our events team coordinates everything from menu selection to dietary requirements, drawing on the full Chez Mal kitchen capabilities. The waterfront location puts you 10 minutes from Edinburgh's center, with the castle and Royal Mile easily accessible.
